Focus Film

The film which I will be focusing on will be the 2003 romantic comedy 'Love Actually' in which Richard Curtis made his directorial debut. I have chosen to study this film as it has broken all records to become the highest grossing British romantic comedy opening in history. It took £6.6 million at the UK box office in just the first weekend. The film is the biggest ever opening in the UK and Ireland for Working Title Films, Universal Pictures and United International Pictures. I have chosen to study this film as it is post the Universal deal, and it illustrates well how that deal has given Working Title Films the opportunity to make such successful films.
